I just have to get on my soap box a little bit today! There’s just nothing that bothers me more than when someone puts themselves or their horse in harms way in their every day handling of the horse (unintentionally or not).
When working around a horse’s legs, particularly the hind legs, being mindful at all times that the horse can easily crack your skull with an effortless hoof to the head is of the utmost importance! So in the video I’ve put together below let’s cover hind leg stretching safety for you and your horse.
In this video we’ll cover the do’s and don’ts when handling your horse’s hind legs for performing stretches or just working around the hind legs in general. I’ll also throw in some tips that I find helpful to get the horse to relax for you, making the stretching/handling procedure a bit easier on both of you.
After you watch the video, come over to the http://www.facebook.com/HeavenlyGaitsEquineMassage and share some of your horse handling experiences, good or bad. We’d love to hear from you!
